Tech X Holga X Instax Mod

Due to the hype of the Diana Instax Back available. I wondering if i could made this possible to Holga itself. Thanks to a few lomotion guys who supported me. Its a great challenged yet another great weekend project Done!!.

Unfortunately i have to eject the intax film manualy. For some incident the original motor and gear damaged. Replacement hassled; parts unable to be found outside. The distant lens point to the original holga film sit are now 5mm extra/away so this mod only able to take up close up and portrait shot.

Yashica Electro Gsn repaired

Another camera repaired, quick one time taken about 2hrs.
Camera belongs to Dreamia.



Quick look and load the battery,
-Battery check failed.
-Light meter not working.

What i did, check the connection on the battery.
Found intermittent on the negative side of the battery holder ( this are the tough part to check as the connection of every single wire to the component is hard wire and compact ). Cut of the wire which connected to the negative side. Replaced it with a new longer wire.





Battery check OK


Light meter check OK

Gd cleaning up on the lens and the view finder.
Place back everything.

Thanks about it.
All good to go.

Yashica MG-1 Repaired and Mod

Same Camera from the previous post. Yashica MG-1.
I don't have time to test it out. Notice something which i did take note off during the first repaired. MG-1 have to light indicator which enable us to take note during the exposure. Overexp. or Slow shutter speed .

I happened to test it out just outside my house. Realize that the overexposed light indicator did not light up, and of course the slow light indicator works fine.

Here i go again troubleshooting where might go wrong, or simply the bulb just blows off.

The bulb dead. Replace it with 3mm led. Since it consume less voltage and current. Point check with DMM , it can goes more than 3v depends on the light intensity falls to the light meter.

Cut out the wiring of and solder the respective point of - and + side of the led. At this point of time, i fix the problem. Led works on during large aperture setting, which means over expoure.

The light did not give much intensity on the bright sunny day outside. Very small of amount of light to indicate it to be over exposure definately hardly notice. If u excidently forgot to dial in to the corrent expoure setting.

As a results, i have no choice but to changed to 5mm led which gives out higher output and since the led are way to big to slot in internally at the actually of the camera. i Mod it by placing the Led outside. Since theres a small hole located there, the led are nicely placed outside. The Led works better this time.

The Led placed out side did not give and problem with the original ones. but i think it serve the purposed to reworked.
I definetly have to test roll this camera out during weekend.

Yashica MG-1 internal/repaired

Solving MG-1

A quick sneak into the internal part of Yashica MG-1.
Friend of mine gave this to me cause he say its broken.
Since that the led is functioning and only the shutter gave a buld mode everytime, I assume the light meter is working and there might be part loose connection to trigger the shutter.

Spend about couple of hours in my workplace to partly dismantled the camera.
My guess is right, fixed the contact and it works now.
The camera are now good to go and well clean by me and DamageDigital

Below are pic of internal part of the camera and the cause of it to not triggering the shutter.
No harm trying to looked into the internal part if u knew what u are doing and if its really cant be fixed, at most just make it into a collection.
